Well our arrival on the Hitchin scene has certainly taken place! We are thrilled with your response and great to see you enjoying and tasting the Hermitage Rd. experience. See our NEW Spring menu on food page.
If you remember 'The Herm' from days gone by you will be amazed at its transformation. It has been described as 'The Tardis'! We've given the building a stripped back 'New York' look and together with carefully chosen furnishings, mood lighting and subtle background music, we feel we have created a very special venue for you to enjoy an evening out whether it be for a drink with friends or to enjoy a delicious meal.
We are open Wednesday to Sunday each week and we really look forward to welcoming you.
You may come across a friendly magician, who often calls to see us on Sundays! And, good to see you enjoying a coffee in our coffee bar downstairs, Now open on Sundays as well from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

On the menu NEW for Spring
Kumour Uddin, head chef and his team are an industrious bunch and cook for you from a state of the art open plan kitchen. They like the ingredients to speak for themselves, that's why they source the best seasonal produce locally. The menu takes a modern approach with some good old favourites and lots of sharing boards for you to enjoy.

Host-a-Roast a fun way to get together with friends and family
What's more heart warming and delicious to eat with family and friends gathered round a table than a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings followed by a good old fashioned pud? At Hermitage Rd. we enjoy the buzz of this exciting eating and drinking experience. You host, we cook and supply the chef's hat and you carve at the table... you may be watched from our open plan kitchen! It's great fun and it's happening at Hermitage Rd. for parties of 6 or more on Sundays. There is a choice of joint, all sourced locally, of course.

Our drinks
The bar at Hermitage Rd. is an enticing fun place to start the evening, meet up with friends and enjoy the ambience. You may even want to share a platter or two.
We have worked especially hard on our wine list, which caters for all tastes and offers a great selection of bold 'new world' reds and 'classic' French whites.
For the real ale drinkers there is a selection four real ales, London Pride, Adnams Bitter and Woodeforde's Wherry plus a regular guest, all available on draught plus premium lagers all served chilled to perfection for you to enjoy.
Our cocktails ... wow ... speak for themselves. They are uniquely created from a fantastic array of specialist liqueurs and spirits, signature cocktails you won't find anywhere else. Check out our special cocktails menu.
We serve Has Bean Coffee, again especially selected (you won't taste better coffee), from an amazing La Marazzoco coffee machine - coffee is served anytime but is a must at the end of your meal - or maybe try an espresso martini.

A great place to meet for a natter and enjoy the best coffees, leaf tea selection or delicious soft fruit drinks. And something to accompany ... at breakfast enjoy toast and croissants, for lunch freshly made baguettes, freshly made tasty soups and any time of the day delicious cakes and pastries cooked in the kitchen upstairs.
Coffee
We have teamed up with 'has bean' coffee roasters to produce hermitage rd. own blend of coffee which produces a modern, well rounded flavour. This works well as an espresso and blends very well with milk based drinks. We also offer speciality single origin coffees brewed via a V60 dripper or French press. We also sell our coffee as whole beans or can grind it to your requirements.
